Jillian Hughes is the Executive Vice President of Communications at Mental Health America. In this role she focuses on media relations, communications planning, and overall messaging. She brings 10 years of experience as a television producer to MHA.
Prior to joining MHA in 2021, Jillian was the Broadcast Producer for CBS News' Sunday morning public affairs program, Face The Nation. There she helped shape the editorial direction of the show and supervised control room operations.
Before Face The Nation, she was a White House Producer for CBS News and covered parts of both the Trump and Obama administrations. She contributed extensively to CBS News' coverage of Campaign 2016, most notably as the lead researcher for CBS News' two primary debates and for the 2016 Vice Presidential Debate. During her time at CBS News, she was nominated for two Emmys.
She graduated from Vanderbilt University with degrees in public policy and political science. She volunteers as a crisis counselor and lives in Washington, DC with her rescue dog Molly.
