MHA Data Connect

Building Meaningful Research Alliances

Collaboration is a fundamental component of Mental Health America's approach to effectively addressing disparities in the mental health system. Through the strength and experience of our mental health team and advisors, we want to advance data-driven, upstream efforts to improve mental health at the population level.

MHA's Online Screening program provides the largest database of individuals seeking help for mental health conditions, gathering data in real-time – as millions of people are actively taking screens. MHA can track and respond to changes in mental health trends faster than with any other data set in the country.

Every day, our team works to transform data into solutions that address the root causes and social determinants of health, increase the availability of early intervention, and develop and allocate mental health resources more equitably.

To support communities with our data, we seek to partner with researchers, states, counties, and local organizations across the country.

Until now, county-level data was challenging to obtain, as many counties lack the capacity to consistently collect, analyze, and release data on the prevalence of mental illnesses. However, our tools can help local governments reshape community hotspots, sufficiently fund and plan public education programs, and improve the delivery of services.

We can't do this alone, and we're ready to work with you to drive action with data!
